YAKIMA BASE

"No matter where you travel, when you meet a guy who's been...
There's an instant kind of friendship 'cause we're brothers of the 'phin."
Robert Reed, George Washington Carver (SSBN-656)

TheUNITED STATES SUBMARINE VETERANS INC was founded in 1965 by a group of U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II. They shared a belief in the need for an organization open to all submariners, from the very beginning of the Submarine Service through to the present and into the future - and not limited to just those who served so ably on Submarines in WW2. They also wanted to insure that those lost in the line of duty on US Submarines will never be forgotten, and to provide a way for veteran Submariners to share camaraderie and pass on the collective memory of the sub force to future generations.  Who are we? We are United States Submarine Sailors! We all proudly earned and wear the coveted Twin Dolphins of the United States Navy Submarine Force. Regardless of the boat you qualified on, be it a diesel type, Nuclear Fast Attack or Boomer, and regardless of rank or rate, if you qualified in Submarines, you are one of the very few good enough to serve in the US Submarine Service, and you belong in the USSVI.
